
A shooting late Sunday in Lehigh Acres resulted in a man being taken to the hospital.
Lee County Sheriff’s Office deputies on patrol in the community responded to a call in the 500 block of Alabama Road and found the man suffering multiple gunshot wounds.
The shooting happened between 9:39 and 9:45 p.m., a report from the Sheriff’s Office said.
The man’s identity was withheld from the report because of Marsy’s Law constraints.
The report states “On August 11, 2019, while on marked uniform patrol in Lehigh Acres, within Lee County Florida. Deputies Rouskey and Nicolas were dispatched to call in reference to a shooting at “redacted per Marsy’s Law“
Upon arrival, deputies observed a black male laying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies began to render first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was transported to the Lee Memorial Hospital for treatment. Due to the nature of the call, Sergeant G. Monmany arrived on scene who then notified WC Capt. Lalor. Violent Crime Sergeant D. Foraker, Detectives R. Lynn, K. Ridenour responded and assumed the investigation.”
LCSO Deputies are still investigating.
