Lee County DOT changed the speed limit from 45 mph to 40 mph on Leeland Heights Blvd. between Maryland Road and North Avenue.
Homestead Road from south of Sunrise Boulevard to north of Alabama Road: Construction Project: This project consists of widening Homestead Road to four lanes. This work will also improve drainage and install new underground utilities. A six-foot sidewalk will be constructed on both sides of the roadway. Motorists should expect lane closures during daytime hours. Project cost is $14.4 million. The contractor is Stevens and Layton, Inc. The project is expected to be complete by early 2020.
Lehigh Acres Resurfacing Project : A Lee County DOT contractor will be resurfacing the roads in the South East section of Lehigh Acres South of Leeland Heights/Joel Boulevard and East of Homestead starting Sunday, June 2, 2019 through October 2, 2019. Motorists should use caution, as there may be lane closures in the work zone from approximately 9 a.m. to 4 p.m
