An Investigation report filed on Feb 5, 2016, to the Sheriff Resource Officer (SRO) and Principal at East Lee County High School shows that an Incident was determined to be an assault on a female student.
Parents of the student work at a school and stated they wanted no documentation with LCSO and wanted the incident handled by school officials at first.
The SRO was advised of a battery that occurred.
According to the LCSO report, the victim, female, was sitting in her math class at approximately 10:15 AM. Her teacher, Jonathan Blikstad pulled her hair back and kissed her on the neck. The victim immediately reported the incident. School officials have students that witnessed what say was the teacher kiss the victim.
The teacher was told not to return to the school pending a Lee County School District investigation for approximately three weeks with pay.
School board records show that Blikstad admitted to district staff that he kissed the student on the neck, but he was never investigated or disciplined by the school district.
The teacher returned to the school. The victim was sent to another classroom for instruction.
The female student has graduated but has been traumatized and the Principal and administration refuse to talk about it, why?
As of yesterday, 12/6/2016, this teacher is still teaching at this school.
We believe that Jonathan Blikstad has violated school districts Policy 5.03(2)(a). What constitutes “good moral character”.
If this was your daughter what would you do?
I respect Orlando for keeping his cool. I personally would not have been able to. Like J commented. I would have slapped the taste out of his mouth. What makes him think he has the right to do that to any student. He also needs to be fired.
Petition to terminate Blikstad.
If the School Board is still investigating the incident, then at least he should be on Administrative Leave. If the District has concluded and found him guilty of this travesty, then we dont need this sort of vial person getting anywhere near the student. We pay very big bucks in this School District, therefore we deserve and DEMAND that the quality of our teachers be above the average also. I shall contact the Superintendent Monday to see what hes got on the subject. Every time I turn around there is an incident at this High School. I recommend a full inquiry of what is the hell is going on over there.
