Supervisor of Elections Sharon Harrington admits an error on the ballot for the Lehigh Acres Municipal Services Improvement District only in precinct 4 in Lehigh Acres.
After their investigation, they found that an error occurred in our geographical mapping system that placed approximately 500 voters outside of the Improvement District.
The ballot design that affects these voters does not include the candidates running for office in the District. All other applicable contests appear on the ballot.
According to Harrington’s office they have contacted our mapping vendor to determine why this error occurred.
The Florida Division of Elections has advised the Lee County Supervisor of Elections that due to the advanced stage of the election, we must allow the election to go forward in its current circumstance and report election results in accordance with Florida Law. The outcome of the election will determine what action, if any, will be undertaken.
