Paul McKenney Wins SWFL Shutter Bugs Camera Group March Photo Contest

SWFL Shutter Bugs Camera group is happy to say Paul McKenney has won our monthly photo contest for March. His image, A Truly Golden View, from high up on the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge made us all a little jealous. “Ever wonder about the view from literally the top of the Golden Gate Bridge 800 feet above the bay? It is breathtaking.  I had the wonderful opportunity to go on a “tour.” The tiny maintenance elevator’s capacity is three people crammed into a small lift. This photo captures not merely the human eye’s perspective, but rather, an exceedingly wide angle 18mm lens’ more expansive view.  My right shoulder was braced against the horizontal cable at the top on a very breezy day.  It was delightful to stick my hand in the air and know I was literally higher than the bridge. This photograph was captured toward the south (i.e. San Francisco) shore from the bay side of the bridge.  No tripod was used as it is a dynamic, not stationary, bridge.  How do you arrange to go atop the Golden Gate?  An old and dear friend in a high place helps” says Paul.  Paul won a gift certificate to White House Color Correction Printing worth over $100 dollars for his entry.
