Deputies are investigating an incident Saturday night near 12 Street West and Sunniland Boulevard in Lehigh Acres.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has not provided information, but at least one body is visible on the roadway next to a four-door sedan.
A helicopter was in the air searching. Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit arrived on the scene at around 11 p.m.
One man who lives nearby said officers told him to stay indoors.

“He said keep my doors locked,” Mike Prett said. “Apparently there’s still somebody out there.”
Janette Muñoz Ramirez got off her shift at the local supermarket but was unable to make it to her home on Unice Avenue North.
She said she is a few homes away from where the body lay Saturday night.
