Is It Proper To Have Firefighters Running For Elected Seat On The Fire Board?

In a recent grocery market poll outside Publix in Lehigh Acres (Done by Survey Mark), 100 voters were polled, would you vote for a firefighter or a spouse or any relation to a firefighter for the Lehigh Acres Fire Board?

91 out of 100 said they would NOT vote for should a person.

When asked why, 76 out of 100 stated it because of the tax assessment and the mistruths the firefighters and the fire board told the people of Lehigh Acres.

Wayne F. a taxpayer and voter in Lehigh Acres said, “At one time Lehigh had four firefighters on the board. And all they did was spend, spend and spend. And the fire board today is still 2.3 million dollars in debt because of those four men.”

Helen M. also a voter in Lehigh Acres said, “I’m 86 years old and live on my own in Presbyterian Homes.” Helen continued talk about how nice and polite the firefighters are but when asked if she would vote for such a person her answer was “NO”.

One person that would not tell their name or if he was a taxpayers or voters sum it up that this, “Firefighters have a tough job, but that’s want they choice to do for a living, no one forced them. No firefighter or spouse of a firefighter or family member of a firefighter should be allowed on that fire board.”

Currently qualified candidates that are current firefighters, retired firefighters or a relation to a firefighter.

  1. Well the LAFC&RD is already run by Nazis, Communisms, Mobsters and Fags. So why not let more Nazis, Communisms, Mobsters and Fags run to continue the tradition.

    1. The Lehigh Acres Gazette does support nor sponsor the William the Earl the Hague comments, but we do support and sponsor the right given to us by the Constitution for the State of Florida and the Constitution for the United States of America.
Freedom of speech is the right to communicate one’s opinions and ideas without fear of government retaliation or censorship.

  2. i don”t think calling people names serves any purpose. As a former firefighter from another state i would like to see someone who has some type of fire knowledge or experience. But i do not feel any one currently on a dept should serve. And maybe some rule changes should be looked in to like any expeniture or repair over a certain amount must be voted on.
