Lehigh Acres Fire Dept A Car Lot?

A Red Mercury has systematically tucked between two of the fire department sheds for the past two and half months at station 102 on Homestead Rd why?

After during same simple investigating we find out that the car is owned by one Clifton Lewis Conklin and his wife of Lehigh Acres. Mr. Conklin is a firefighter with the Lehigh Acres Fire Dept.

He must be working 24 hours 7 days a week for the past 2 ½ months because car has not moved.

Why are we the taxpayers storing his car?

  1. I’ve been an EMT for almost 30 years. Maybe they use the car for extrication training. Extrication does not always mean tearing the car apart.

    1. This car is title and owned by a Lehigh Acres Firefighter and never been used for car for extrication training

  2. What storage fees are we the tax payers fronting for this? Probably nothing because the ground is own by the fire department. God forbid the fire department take care of one of their own. Maybe it broke down and he can not afford to fix it. Not everyone can live off the government. Im sure he has other bills to pay. How did you look his vehicle up? I sure hope you didn’t have a cop friend search for him on their computer. Pretty sure that is a no no.

  3. Let it go. We all know you hate the fire department. I wouldnt be surprised if you went through their trash trying to find stuff wrong with them. They do a wonderful job out here and many of us have been very thankful to have them. Hope you never have to call them. Have a feeling they would not come for you.

      1. You stated right in the article the car belongs to a firefighter. That is an issue with the men as well as the board.

    1. I hate the fire dept.also after the tax (how much is your life worth) raise ,why not call it exactly what it was a tax cut for the wealthy.

  4. Without the fair tax increase we could have lost stations. Call your own insurance agent and ask what a higher fire rating would have done to your annual homeowners; that is IF they would have still insured you!
