
The Florida Department of Education released preliminary school and district grades Friday, and overall, Southwest Florida districts fared well.
Lee County received a B for 2015, the same as in 2014.
Collier improved from a B to an A. Charlotte also improved, from a C to a B.
DeSoto and Hendry both received a C, up from a D in 2014.
The only Southwest Florida district to lose a grade was Glades, which dropped to a C from a B.

School grades are measured by four achievement components – English Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies – as well as components for middle school acceleration, graduation rate, and high school acceleration.
