Jason Dixon, was honored by the Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District for saving the life of a man a few weeks ago. The man’s vehicle plunged into a canal on Ann Avenue, and a neighbor saw it happen and Dixon jumped into action by jumping into the canal and breaking the window and pulling the driver out.
Dixon was cited for pulling the man out of the canal before Lehigh Acres Fire and Rescue District arrived on the scene. The accident happened on Aug. 10.
According to Lee County sheriff report, the accident happened at around 9:15 p.m. on a road where there were no streetlights. The driver, Dylan Fankhouser was trapped inside his car which was slowly filling with water.
Dixon punched at the window glass and finally shattered it.
