The date of the much anticipated opening of the new larger Publix supermarket at 1324 Homestead Rd in downtown Lehigh Acres has come..
The Publix supermarket is all new. The former building, which had been in Lehigh Acres for at least two decades at that location, was demolished to make room for an even larger supermarket, this time including a pharmacy.
The much larger supermarket is located next to the World Gym, easy enough to spot. The shopping center has come to be called the Publix Shopping Center. It is in the middle of a long strip center that includes several other businesses including a couple of eateries, a flower shop and other retail businesses. Click here to see other photos
