On Sunday, August 10th, 2014, Selina Pfuner of Lehigh Acres and Erin Post of Pine Island, two local High School freshmen, won the Florida State Championship title in the U14 (14 years old and under) division in a beach volleyball tournament organized by Florida Beach Volleyball Tour (FBVT, https://flbeachvolleyball.com ).
The tournament was held in Ft. Lauderdale, next to the Yankee Clipper Sheraton hotel on Ft. Lauderdale Beach. They prevailed over the other teams in their division undefeated during the course of the tournament on Sunday which lasted from 7.30 am with registration / check-in, all the way to 7.00 pm when the awards ceremony was held.
Beach volleyball is played by two men/women teams and this was Pfuner and Post’s only fourth tournament playing together as a team. Of those four tournaments they participated in, they were able to win three.
