Helen Flint Weddel, age 73, of Lehigh Acres lost her battle with pancreatic cancer on August 11, 2014. Helen is a 4th generation native Floridian who was born, raised and spent her entire life on Homestead Road in Lehigh Acres. She graduated from Alva High School in 1961. She worked in the moving business for many years. When she wasn’t working she enjoyed cooking, sewing, painting, gardening, sailing, shooting and car shows. She especially enjoye0d spending time with her family.
Helen was an exceptional woman, a bright shining star who touched the hearts of everyone she came in contact with. She was a wonderful daughter, loving wife and an amazing mother and grandmother. Helen is irreplaceable to all that know her. She will be greatly missed by all who know and love her.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents William R. and Ida May (Hedlund) Flint and her husband, Millard “Skip” Weddel. She is survived by her loving companion, Glen Obertubbesing and his adoring mother, Virginia Obertubbesing; her sons: Brian (Rosie) Mount and Gerald (Margret) Mount; her grandchildren: Elizabeth Mount, Dillion Breeyear, Jeremy (Jennifer) Stevens and Joshua Mount; her great grandchildren: Colton Smith and Mariah Knavel; her brother, Bill Flint; step-mother, Alecia Flint and many loving cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Hodges Funeral Home at Lee Memorial Park from 12 pm until the time of the funeral service at 1 pm. Interment will be in Lee Memorial Park Cemetery. Info 239-334-4880
