Kiwanis Thrift Store has been named Lehigh Acres Gazette business of the month for November 2013.
Chartered in April, 1968, the Kiwanis Club of Lehigh Acres is one of our community’s oldest civic organizations. No other club in our community has contributed more money, time and volunteer hours to youth, elderly, or those in need. That is a record our members are proud of and one that requires our organization to reach out and continually enlist others to energize our ranks. Our charitable funds are raised exclusively through the generous donations to and by our customers’ patronage of the KIWANIS THRIFT STORE. Store is located at 15 Homestead Road south next to the Fire Station. Kiwanis website click here
Each year over $100,000 has been budgeted by our club to make “our world” a better place to live.
The Kiwanis of Lehigh Acres each year in September, Kiwanis prepares a budget of giving contributions and funding support to its many sponsored programs. This past year over $100,000 was appropriated to the various programs.
Funding is a result of the many volunteer hours provided by members and others at the KIWANIS THRIFT STORE.
Kiwanis receives generous tax deductible donations of unwanted, useful household items such as: clothing, furnishings, sporting goods, appliances, fixtures, tools, books, luggage, you name it ….we’ve probably got it!, according to Damon Shelor Executive Director
