Most every American has been personally touched by the attack on our country on 9/11/01. Many lost friends or relatives, directly or indirectly as a result of this event.
This morning at 8:30am, school faculty and staff along with the students at Mirror Lakes Elementary School in Lehigh Acres gathered for a memorial service where they will raise the American flag and honor those brave men and women lost or impacted by this event.
An Honor Guard provided by uniformed BLUE LIGHTNING PROTECTION (BLP) officers escorted three students, one of whom will carry the flag to the pole. The path will be lined by student safety patrol members along with the school faculty, staff and student body. The flag will be raised to half-mast by BLP Officers and the names of loved ones of the school community who were lost on 9/11, will be read out loud and followed by a moment of silence.
