Junior Edible Gardening Club

The Junior Edible Gardening Club (4-H) is accepting new members ages 8-18 for the September to May 2013-2014 year. 4-H membership fee is $15.

Meetings start promptly at 5 p.m., the third Thursday of the month, and end at 6:30 p.m.

Club members learn about plants, insects, worms, soil, composting, and more! Seeds are started at every meeting. These seedlings will be ultimately entered into the Lee County Fair.

For fundraising, youth make and sell origami seed packets. Profits cover an all-day agricultural farm tour trip.

For community service, members construct a raised garden bed at needy family’s homes including all of the plants and seeds.

Additional junior club meetings are held to plan and participate in fundraising events and community service projects.

Contact 4-H leader, Ms. Karen, at ILoveLehighAcres@gmail.com or 610.530.8883 for additional details.
