FGUA Is Providing Rain
Sensors To Its Customers

Example of a Rain Sensor

The Florida Governmental Utility Authority (FGUA) announces the introduction of its Moisture Sensor Conservation Program to customers in the FGUA Systems. This program provides free equipment for customers to monitor and reduce their lawn water consumption year-round.

The available rain sensors work to monitor rainfall and shut off sprinklers automatically to avoid unnecessary lawn watering. They may be attained by visiting the FGUA Customer Service Office at Lehigh Acres – 1229 Homestead Rd.  and presenting an FGUA billing statement and matching identification. Rain Sensors are limited and will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis.

This FGUA program was prompted to avoid excess irrigation that may occur following wet weather. The FGUA program, in addition to local county and municipal governments, support the sustainability of the existing regional water supply. The FGUA also encourages customers to continue to follow the “Year Round Watering

Restrictions” instituted by Lee County officials, available at the Lee Utilities County website at http://www.leegov.com/gov/dept/Utilities/Pages/WaterRestrictions.aspx

FGUA customers may contact the Lehigh Acres System Customer Service Office at (239) 368-1615 with questions. Please visit the FGUA web site at www.fgua.com for additional information.
