Firefighters responded to a brush fire on 24th Street SW, near Gunnery Road.
The bush fire came dangerously close to two homes, but was 100% contained late Sunday night.
Lehigh Acres Firefighters suspect the brush fire sparked after someone shot off fireworks in the neighborhood.
“Right now, the best thing I can say that as dry as conditions are, and as windy as it is and the low humidity…any spark, anything will start a fire and spread very quickly,” Lehigh Fire Department Battalion Chief Robert Dilallo said Sunday.
LAFD fire investigators will return to the scene Monday morning to resume their inquiry into the cause of the fire.
