Lehigh Acres Is The Place to Call Home

Have you noticed the moving trucks pulling up to homes that prior to were overgrown with brown grass and tattered looking front yards.  Houses are getting fixed up,  Palm trees transplanted  and bright colored mulch is being placed in bedding of bushes and flowers will be blooming all over Lehigh Acres. Spring is almost here.  The exciting news though is the amount of homes that we are seeing bought and cleaned up and Lehigh appears to be coming alive again.

Real Estate is moving.  Prices are still very affordable and many northerner’s have  made SW Florida their second home.  Investors are able to make deals that make profits for them that they are not able to achieve by the stock market.  All over the country, folks are paying attention to the weekly auction of homes ready to move in right here in Lehigh.  They are looking pretty to the eye and marketing us so close to beaches but just far enough to save on insurance and taxes, you hear over and over again Lehigh is the place to be.   Realtors are working hard, showing properties to buyers and spending time presenting their marketing plan and comparative market analysis for sellers.

Let’s recap February’s numbers.  The following are statistics using the local MLS Board

860 SFR homes were on the market,  378 short sales, 86 foreclosures and  396 arm’s length listings.

107 New Properties were listed in February

184 homes sold at an average price of $65,983.  43 were listed as REO,  42 short sales and 99 properties were arm’s length transactions.

152 went pending in the month of Feb.

As we spoke about last month, the numbers sold are greater than the being placed on the market during the same period which are big signs the market is getting healthier.
