Did you Know?

Did you know that there have been continued attacks against Chalie Kirk from Florida teachers, legislators, and others even after his death?

Rep. Juan C. Porras, a personal friend of Kirk’s, has led calls for individuals lacking “human compassion” in their speech to face job loss, framing it as an “accountability culture” rather than cancel culture.

Florida House Representative Berny Jacques (R-Seminole) called on Pinellas County Superintendent Kevin Hendrick to investigate a teacher who reportedly posted “Good Riddance” and said Kirk “deserved it” after the shooting. Similarly, Rep. Randy Fine (R-Fla.) urged constituents to report anyone expressing glee over Kirk’s death, stating such individuals should be “thrown out of civil society” and face professional consequences like firing and license revocation.

Florida Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas warned educators that public comments causing students or parents to feel unwelcome could lead to termination. These actions reflect a broader effort by Florida officials to suppress speech critical of Kirk rather than engage in it themselves. Florida Education Commissioner Anastasios Kamoutsas as well issued a statewide memo directing school superintendents to investigate and discipline any educator whose public comments “celebrate or excuse” Charlie Kirk’s assassination. He warned that such “vile, sanctionable” behavior undermines the trust of students and families and could mean minimally a loss of teaching credentials.
