Did you know that U.S. Representative Cory Mills faced his ex-girlfriend, Lindsey Langston, in a Florida court hearing over her request for a restraining order?
Langston, who is Miss United States and a Republican state committeewoman from Columbia County, testified that she was “scared” Mills might harm her or release intimate videos of her to damage her reputation, alleging that he threatened violence toward any future partners. Mills denied any wrongdoing and also claimed that his phone had been damaged and he no longer possessed any explicit content, asserting that references to videos were about online clips Langston had shared regarding another man.
The hearing, held in Lake City, lasted beyond its scheduled 90 minutes and was adjourned without a ruling from Circuit Court Judge Fred Koberlein, who said another hearing would be scheduled soon. Langston claims that she had asked Mills at least 11 times to stop contacting her before filing for protection in August, and she described emotional distress severe enough to require therapy and medication. Mills stated that the allegations are politically motivated, linking them to his former primary rival, Anthony Sabatini of Lake County, admitted to giving Langston legal advice but denied formally representing her. This case unfolds amid broader scrutiny of Representative Mills, including an ongoing House Ethics Committee investigation into federal contract allegations and a prior unproven assault claim from another woman in Washington, D.C.
