Did you know that a Florida lawmaker has urged law enforcement agencies to suspend the use of the SIG Sauer P320 handgun?

There have been new reports of this particular handgun having unintentional discharges according to State Representative Danny Alvarez, R-Hillsborough County, which is calling on agencies across our state to stop using the handgun, which has been linked to over 100 incidents of unintentional discharges since 2016, resulting in at least 80 injuries.

Sig Sauer, the manufacturer of the P320 handgun, maintains that the weapon meets all safety standards and cannot fire without a trigger pull however, one among many other videos shows the weapon clearly discharging without trigger pull, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z34beSjO6rM

In a prior press release, Sig Sauer stated that the P320 cannot discharge without a trigger pull, but there are lawsuits, injuries, and even our U.S military have paused the use and purchase of this brand of gun. The FBI acknowledged that the P320 could discharge prematurely under certain conditions. https://bearingarms.com/tomknighton/2025/07/10/fbi-issues-report-after-examining-p320-pistol-following-uncommanded-discharge-n1229215
