Did you know that former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo is threatening to move to Florida?

Cuomo, currently running as an independent candidate in the New York City mayoral race, recently stated that he may move to Florida if Communist Zohran Mamdani wins the mayoral election on November 4, 2025.

Recently speaking at a breakfast event in the Hamptons, Cuomo remarked, “It’s all or nothing. We either win or even I will move to Florida.” Cuomo’s comments were reported by his spokesman to allegedly highlight his concerns about Mamdani’s policies, pointing out Mamdani’s proposal to freeze rents on stabilized apartments, which Cuomo also publicly criticized as unrealistic and potentially harmful to the housing market.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis responded to Andrew Cuomo’s remarks on social media, stating, “Don’t New York our Florida!”.

While some interpreted Cuomo’s statement as a joke, others viewed it as a reflection of his lack of commitment to New York. The remark has sparked discussions about the stakes of the upcoming election and the potential impact of Mamdani’s policies on the city.

Florida has seen an exodus of many New York State residents move to Florida over the past decade, including former politicians such as convicted felon, former Congressman, Chris Collins.
