A missing man last seen on a Jet Ski at a park in Hendry County Sunday was found dead Monday morning.
According to the Hendy County Sheriff’s Office, Michael R. Altuve Ardilla, 31, was recovered from the water at Springs Recreation Park.
Altuve Ardilla was last seen riding a Jet Ski at the park which is on the Lee County, Hendry County line near Lehigh Acres.
Multiple agencies searched for Altuve Ardilla Sunday evening until calling off the search at sundown.
The search resumed with divers in the water Monday morning, with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) assisting.
LCSO said they sent their marine unit and dive team to use underwater drones in efforts to find him.
Lazy Springs is a popular park where people ride UTVs, jet skis, and kayaks. FWC is investigating, and LCSO is assisting as they work to search for the jet skier.
HCSO said this is an active investigation, and no further information is available.
