Huge holes in the roof of the Church
UPDATE: Firefighters were able to recover the flag from the sanctuary. It’s soaked, but not damaged.
An investigator from the Florida Bureau of Fire, Arson & Explosives Investigations is on the scene. They will work with our investigators to determine the cause of the fire.
UPDATE: The fire is now under control. Firefighters will be busy with mop-up operations. Investigators will enter the building once it is safe.
We are working an active structure fire at 1430 Homestead Rd (Christ at Crossroads Church). PIO is en route, and more information will be provided when available.
Fire crews are working to extinguish the flames after responding to a 2-alarm fire at the Christ at the Crossroads Church at 1430 Homestead Road N in Lehigh Acres.
Lehigh Acres Fire, Fort Myers Fire, and South Trail Fire crews responded to the incident at 5:43 PM Sunday afternoon.
Update 6:55 pm: The scene is still active. At this time no injuries have been reported.
