Man arrested for trying to use counterfeit money at Lehigh Acres 7-Eleven

A man was arrested for trying to use counterfeit money and getting physical with a cashier at a 7-Eleven in Lehigh Acres.

According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, two men entered the store Sunday and attempted to use a $100 counterfeit bill. However, when the clerk realized the bill was counterfeit, a physical altercation ensued.

The LCSO said one of the suspects went behind the counter and attempted to grab the bill from the employee’s hand.

A witness who was working told deputies one of the suspects had shoulder-length dreadlocks and returned to the store approximately 10-15 minutes after the clerk realized the bill was counterfeit.
