According to a report, the following cities in Florida are ranked as the top 3 most unsafe:
Ranked as the third most unsafe city in the US, Fort Lauderdale ranks low in home and community safety and financial safety categories, and high in natural-disaster risk category.
Lake City ranked as one of the most dangerous cities in Florida, Lake City has a high violent crime rate, with 1,556 violent crimes per 100,000 people.
Florida City ranked as one of the most dangerous cities in Florida, Florida City has a high violent crime rate, with 2,908 violent crimes per 100,000 people.
The criteria for “worst” cities in the U.S also included:
- Presence of terrorist attacks
- Number of mass shootings
- Crimes per capita, including rapes, assaults, thefts and murders, hate crimes
- Sex offenders per capita
- Law enforcement employees per capita
- Traffic fatalities and more
In these categories alone, the Fort Lauderdale area ranked number 11. In the Miami-Dade area, the risk of being the victim of a violent crime is almost 1 in 43 and of course, if you drive a vehicle anywhere in Florida, you are literally taking a risk of being injured or killed, but nowhere higher a risk, than the Oakland Park-Miami area with 10% of all auto and vehicle accidents across the state, occurring in that area, alone.
