Did you Know

Did you know that Florida law enforcement officials are investigating voters who signed a petition to get an abortion rights measure on the ballot this Fall?

Florida State police are showing up at homes of those who signed a petition to support the abortion rights amendment on the ballot in November. Additionally, a state health care agency has launched a website targeting the ballot initiative.

The officer’s visit to homes appears to be part of an effort by the DeSantis administration to inspect thousands of signatures placed on petitions to have the pro-abortion measure on the ballot.

According to a Florida Department of State spokesman, the investigation being done is legitimate because “The Department of State has uncovered evidence of illegal conduct with fraudulent petitions…We have a duty to seek justice for Florida Citizens who were victimized by fraud and safeguard the integrity of Florida’s elections.”

The department of state did provide copies of petition forms alleged to contain fraud, with the signature and voter information redacted. The agency also released three complaints from voters saying they had not in fact signed the petition.

Election Day, 2024 will include 10 states which will include abortion measures on the ballot. These pro-abortion amendments often receive monetary support from activist groups such as Planned Parenthood, the American Civil Liberties Union, or from politicians and or, celebrities.
