Lee County deputies reunite missing three-year-old girl with mother

A heartwarming outcome to a terrifying situation unfolded Thursday evening when a lost three-year-old girl was found and reunited with her mother.

The Lee County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) said at 4:45 p.m. dispatch received a report of a missing three-year-old girl last seen in the area of Joel Boulevard in Lehigh Acres. Due to the urgency of the situation, deputies, K-9 units, and the LCSO Aviation Unit assisted in the search.

The sheriff’s office posted on Facebook the moment deputies located the young girl.

The child was found safe and unharmed wandering in a nearby area, LCSO said.

“Hi, how are you, sweetie?” The deputy asked as he approached the girl. “Come on.”

A video clip capturing the emotional reunion between the mother and child was also included.
