Most physicians that accept Medicare are forced to accept a lower payment for their medical treatment services and the list of primary care physicians have been shrinking over the years because of that lower payment rate.
Changes to insurers may face reduced benchmark payments for 2025. Medicare Advantage plans, potentially leading to benefit cuts. For example, the Biden/Harris administration has proposed a 0.2% average reduction in benchmark payments.
Private adjustment insurance companies like Humana are ending some plans and cutting benefits for Medicare Advantage recipients in 2025. They are doing so to boost their financial performance. This may affect millions of Americans, with over 6 million enrollees potentially impacted.
