Did you know that the cofounder and spokesman for the Satanic Temple has volunteered to be a chaplain in our Florida schools?
Lucien Greaves, cofounder and spokesperson for The Satanic Temple, which is a recognized church by the U.S. government, has recently stated he will be volunteering in Florida schools as a chaplain and offer counseling to children.
This past April, Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law allowing outside organizations to provide “additional counseling and support to students.” DeSantis stated at the time of the law being signed, it is intended to reintroduce Christian values into public education. However, the bill has left the implementation of chaplaincy programs to individual school districts and only requires schools to list a volunteer’s religion “if any.”
The Satanic Temple via Lucien Greaves, has reached out to the state of Florida to offer their services as school chaplains under the new program. Greaves has stated that there is no reason the program should not be inclusive of Satanists. The temple has a history of suing and gaining access to public spaces and institutions, including schools, when they have been denied.
