Did you know that the Florida Supreme Court may soon give their decision whether allowing abortion and marijuana use on the ballot this coming Election Day?

In April of 2023, Governor Ron DeSantis signed a six-week abortion ban into law. There was a signature drive by leftist political groups who demanded the law be overturned by a majority of voters this Election Day. The Florida Supreme Court however has intervened after Florida Attorney General Ashly Moody submitted a law suit as to the Constitutionality of such a vote to take place.
Another question for the highest court of Florida, is recreational marijuana use to be allowed here in our state. Again, leftist political groups and organizations also gathered signatures to put the vote to the people of Florida this coming Election Day. The courts have also intervened and it appears that the Supreme Courts of Florida has given signals it has come close to making a decision regarding both questions.
There is an April deadline for allowing ballot initiatives to appear on the November ballot. If the court is going to make a decision in time, it will need to do so soon. Florida Attorney General Moody however has recently offered to the Supreme Court to submit additional motions on both questions. This may postpone the court’s decision until sometime after 2024.
