Did you know that a Florda father lost his baby daughter to adoption without his knowledge or consent?

As often occurs within the multi-billion dollar per year, Family Law industry of the Florida BAR Association courts, another parent has lost their child to a legal-kidnapping for cash scam.

Brandon Marteliz of Hillsborough County said that when his girlfriend was pregnant and the day before his daughter was born, he sent a text message to ask if she was going to the hospital, she replied that she thought so. He also again sent her a text inquiring if she was going to come outside and when she was going. Brandon’s girlfriend never responded.

Marteliz was later informed, that his “daughter passed away” due to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS).

When he went to the hospital where is daughter was born to check on the facts, hospital staff were contacting security because he could not locate his daughter.

Three weeks later, Marteliz received a text from the mother of his daughter, telling him, “I have her” and “I got the baby.”

According to filed court documents, the day after his baby was born, the mother consented to adoption and named Marteliz as a “man who may have interest in the minor child.”

Because Brandon and his girlfriend were not married, Florida quickly took his daughter and sold the baby to an adoption agency.

In October, despite having no access to his daughter, a Family Law industry judge decided because Marteliz did not provide any financial or medical support since the child’s birth, his consent was not required to move forward with an adoption and agreed the legal kidnapping of his daughter was allowed. Marteliz is still pursuing to regain his parental; rights as a father, but his attorney has informed him he has exhausted all legal options.
