An early morning hit-and-run on I-75 critically wounded a 51-year-old man from Lehigh Acres. The incident took place at 3:28 a.m. near mile marker 102 in Collier County. An unidentified driver’s pickup struck the rear of the man’s SUV, causing it to swerve and capsize on the right shoulder. The two vehicles were heading south when the crash occurred.
The culprit fled, leaving the injured man and his overturned SUV behind. Florida Highway Patrol is now fervently searching for the runaway driver.
Troopers are continuing their investigation into the incident.
