A Lehigh Acres man was sentenced to 25 years in prison for molesting a child multiple times.
According to court officials, Gullermo Martinez Cruz, 55, was found guilty of two counts of lewd or lascivious molestation.
A criminal investigation involving Cruz began in 2021 when a child began having trouble in school, leading school employees to ask questions.
Based on details that the school learned, they contacted the Collier County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office would take over the investigation after CCSO found that the abuse happened in Lehigh Acres.
Information was discovered that lead to the arrest of Cruz for past molestation of a child.
Cruz has been issued lifetime sex offender probation and has been designated as a sexual predator.
