Two Contracting Services employees were hit by a vehicle on I-75 at mile marker 112 southbound on Feb. 11.
According to Lt. Gregory Bueno from the Florida Highway Patrol, the employees rode a John Deere side-by-side Gator and were picking up trash.
They tried to cross the southbound lanes when a vehicle hit them.
The Lehigh Acres Gazette tried to reach out to FDOT for comment and no answer at the time of posting.
Both employees were taken to the hospital with injuries.
This is an ongoing investigation.
