Did you Know

Did you know that as a Florida taxpayer, you could be required to help pay up to $1.5 Million Dollars for attorney fees to defend a decision made by Governor Ron DeSantis?

Information gathered from the state’s contract database, Florida has put aside nearly $1.5 million thus far for a legal defense in reference to several lawsuits filed regarding the illegal immigrants that Ron DeSantis flew from Texas, to Martha’s Vineyard in Massachusetts.

Also, according to the same database, there are two Boston-based law firms which will receive $500,000 each to aide defending Governor DeSantis, Florida’s Department of Transportation and other state official’s names in the lawsuits. That amount given to the law firms, is nearly the same amount Florida paid its contractor, Vertol Systems Inc., to fly two flights of Illegal Immigrants from Texas to Martha’s Vineyard.

Last October, Florida’s Center for Government Accountability sued the state after it would not release public records regarding how it handled the two flights with Illegal Immigrants onboard. A judge was asked for records to be released by the state in reference to these flights. That judge did order DeSantis and the State of Florida to release those records, but according to sources, the state never released those records, nor were attorney and court fees associated with the Florida’s Center for Government Accountability law suit were paid by the state when also ordered by the judge.
