A 17-year-old ATV driver was sent to the hospital early Thursday morning with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Lehigh Acres.
The crash happened on Sunshine Boulevard N and Flora Ave North just after midnight.
According to Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the ATV was riding east on Sunshine Blvd N ahead of a sedan. The driver of the sedan, a 17-year-old girl also from Lehigh Acres, crashed into the back of the ATV.
The boy was brought to Gulf Coast Medical Center.
Sunshine Blvd N was shut down for some time while FHP troopers investigated the crash, but it is back open.
