With all the problems in Lee County, is it time to incorporate Lehigh Acres:
• Hurricane Ian
• Interest rates 9-plus percent on home sales
• Total loss of meals and rooms tax and bed tax in Lee County
• Loss of sales tax because of hurricane
• Loss of property taxes because of Hurricane Ian
• Total loss of Fort Myers Beach, losses in the city of Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Captiva Island, Pine Island, Cape Coral, Bonita Springs
So where do Lehigh Acres residents think all these losses are going to come from? Lehigh Acres.
So are you ready to see your taxes go up significantly because of Lee County commissioners spending your money to support all these destroyed communities?
I am not willing to watch my taxes go so high along with your homeowner’s insurance and your car insurance to support those who had zero insurance and want Lehigh Acres to support them.
Lee County commissioners are taking your money in Lehigh Acres to give to those who give us nothing.
FYI: Fort Myers Beach is wanting to crawl back into the Lee County Commission’s bed because they don’t have any money to fix anything.
So where do you think Lee County commissioners are going to take taxes from? Lehigh Acres.
The Lee County commissioners use fear tactics to make you think becoming a city would be so expensive.
Would it not be interesting if we in Lehigh Acres could control our own money and not have to support those people who refused to carry insurance and told us in Lehigh Acres that they did not need flood insurance?
Now they want you to support them like welfare recipients.
All that money they saved on insurance was used to support them and now they want Lehigh Acres to give welfare support to them to rebuild.
Screw them?
