Hours after Fort Myers police were on the scene of a fatal shooting, they announced the arrest of a suspect in the case.
FMPD arrested Raymond Anderson III, of Lehigh Acres, in connection to the early Thursday morning fatal shooting of Darrel Sanders, 34, on Veronica Shoemaker Boulevard.
Anderson, 41, remains at the Lee County Jail on charges of possession of a weapon by a convicted Florida felon.
Police say the investigation remains very active and ask for any additional witnesses to contact them or Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers.
No further information was available Friday afternoon.
Jail records indicate Anderson is next due in court on Jan. 23. He remains in custody on a $50,000 bond.
