The School District of Lee County continues to monitor the path of Tropical Storm Nicole. Reports by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) early this afternoon stated that the storm has moved out of our area.

Due to the damage, our schools sustained as a result of Hurricane Ian, District officials spent the last few hours visiting our schools to assess the buildings for further damage. For the continued safety of our students and staff, it was important for our teams to take the extra time to do this before making a decision on when to reopen. Now that all buildings have been assessed and found to be safe for use, the District has made the decision to reopen schools and the Central Office for regular operations tomorrow, November 11, 2022.
District officials will work with the District’s Calendar Committee and the Florida Department of Education to make a determination on when today’s instructional time will be made up. We will continue to keep our families and staff updated.
