Did you know that a recent flight to Florida was diverted because a man was found with a box cutter?
A flight departing from the Cincinnati/Kentucky International Airport last Friday evening was scheduled to land in Tampa International Airport. Instead, Frontier Airlines reported that the plane was rerouted to Atlanta after a box cutter was found in the passenger’s possession.
Lillian Hoffman told an NBC News crew that when the person who had a box cutter went to the bathroom aboard the flight, the person next to him had alerted her that the suspect had a knife and was “threatening to stab people.”
When the plane landed on Atlanta, police authorities immediately arrested the man holding the box cutter. Later, law enforcement found a second box in the suspect’s carry-on luggage.
