Christopher Monzon, known as the “Cuban Confederate,” has well documented ties to white nationalist groups, a history of extremely racist public comments, and an arrest record for assaulting protestors with a Confederate flag. Just recently, Miami Proud Boys – including a member facing federal charges for participating in the January 6 attack – were seen guarding his room.

White nationalist groups espouse white supremacist or white separatist ideologies, often focusing on the alleged inferiority of nonwhites. Groups listed in a variety of other categories—Ku Klux Klan, neo-Confederate, neo-Nazi, racist skinhead and Christian Identity—could also be fairly described as white nationalist.
Monzon is a paid staffer for the Florida Republican Party who canvasses for Marco Rubio’s campaign. Why hasn’t Marco Rubio explained why one of his campaign workers has ties to white nationalist groups?
