Did you know that some chocolate candy bars are laced with poisonous mushrooms?
Authorities here in Florida are warning parents of chocolate bars that are laced with hallucinogenic mushrooms as illegal substances are increasingly being produced in candy-like form such as seen recently with Fentanyl laced tablets that appear as candy that were seized at our Southern border.
Winter Haven police recently uncovered colorfully packaged chocolates containing hallucinogenic mushrooms. “This type of substance is a Schedule 1 drug and is not legal in the state of Florida,” said Winter Haven Chief of Police, David Brannan. “Parents are encouraged to speak with their children about consuming anything that could possibly contain a dangerous substance.”

An increasing number of foods and snacks that have appealing messages to children such as attractive coloring or cartoon characters are appearing in stores, but contain levels of THC, or other harmful substances.
