With great sadness, I write about my mentor Frank Mann. I hope you will keep his principles’ ideals’ in your heart and his wonderful legacy alive for generations to come. Frank was the greatest commissioner we ever had. He wanted the best for Lee County. His philosophy was modest in that he did not wish to pave Lee over and make it a dull east coast county like this commission wants. Keeping Alva, Bay Shore and the whole DRGR rural was Frank’s bequest.
He was the last great environmentalist we have on the board. We need three new Frank Mann’s on the commission. Ask all running for commissioner this August. ‘ Are you going to vote for housing, mining, or large commercial developments in Alva, Bay Shore, or the DRGR?” If yes, do not vote for them. You want a yes or no against sprawl. Don’t let them lead you on with a political complicated answer. That would be a no-vote. WE need a 3-2 Mann legacy vote instead of a 4-1 Frank vote. Keep Frank’s philosophy alive in Lee County. Vote environmental and for more water this August.
