Did you know that Florida drivers could get a ticket for playing music too loud under a new law?

Many drivers and homeowners across Florida are now celebrating a new Florida statute that mandates drivers to lower their music levels from inside their vehicles.
The new law also includes loud exhaust systems or mufflers that rattle. Generally, those vehicles do not have factory-installed mufflers and cause excessive noise as well.
According to the Florida Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle Department, “the officer need not determine the particular word or phrases being produced or the name of any song or artist producing the sound. The detection of a rhythmic bass reverberating type sound is sufficient to constitute a plainly audible sound.”
Drivers can receive a fine up to $114 for blasting their music or noise from vehicles.
Point of reference for Florida law enforcement officers, the new law allows officers to ticket those playing music or emitting loud noise that is audible from a minimum of a 25-foot distance.
