On Saturday, May 21, Jazmin was riding her horse Izzy and fell to the ground. It looked like she landed on her rear end in the soft sand so we all thought she was ok. Unfortunately, that was not the case for Jazmin. She tried to stand up with the help of a fellow rider, her legs were weak and she was in a lot of pain. We called her mom immediately and let her know that Jazmin had fallen off, and said we’d call again in a few minutes to let her know how she was. Jazmin is typically a very tough girl for 13 years old! The call a few minutes later was “She needs to go to the hospital.” A call no rider wants to make. When she arrived they did a cat scan and later an MRI and decided she needed to have surgery on her lower back.
Rosa is a single mother trying to provide for her household on her own. She has missed work from multiple jobs so far and will continue to miss work as Jazmin recovers. Many people have asked how they can help and this is how! Rosa would never ask for help but she is such a kind person, I hate to see her and Jazmin struggle. If you can spare a few dollars to help them make ends meet as they go through this ordeal, that would be a huge weight lifted off of their shoulders.
