The Florida Forest Service will be conducting a 14 acre prescribed burn on November 29, 2021 in Lehigh Acres, Fla.

The boundaries of the prescribed burn are E 19th ST on the North side, Fitch AVE on the East side, E 18th ST on the South side, and Abbott AVE on the West side. The area is positioned East of Joel BLVD and South of SR 80.
Motorists and residents should exercise caution in the area.
The prescribed burn serves to reduce the understory surface fuels for wildfire safety. South Florida slash pine serves as the canopy in this area with pockets of saw palmetto and various grasses as the understory.
