NAACP leaders have offered their own redistricting map after rejecting seven maps offered to county commissioners by Lee County staff as discriminatory, saying they don’t meet the basic criteria of creating a minority-majority county commission district.
Lee County Commissioners have scheduled hearings on the proposed redistricting for Tuesday, Oct. 19 at 9:30 a.m. in the commission chamber at the Old County Courthouse, 2120 Main Street, Fort Myers.
Additional hearings are scheduled for Nov. 2 at 6 p.m. and Nov. 16 at 9:30 a.m.
