Twenty years ago

Editorial

Twenty years ago, we were all united we stand, divided we fall. We had the banners hanging from our houses, our cars, wherever we could put them, and now twenty years later, we are fighting over everything………… mask on or no mask, vaccine or no vaccine, job or no job, when is it going to stop?

Black, white, yellow, or purple whatever your skin color is, we all bleed RED. We are part of a family, period. When is it going to stop?

Twenty years ago we fought an enemy we didn’t even know. Now we fight an enemy cannot even see. When is it going to stop?

When will we be united again, we are stronger together than apart. When is it going to stop?

The COVID-19 pandemic is a public health emergency — but it is far more.

It is an economic crisis.  A social crisis.  And a human crisis that is fast becoming a human rights crisis.

We are all in this together.

The virus threatens everyone.  Human rights uplift everyone.

By respecting each other in this time of crisis, we will build more effective and inclusive solutions for the emergency of today.

I know it’s hard for some to listen; we are all in this together. Please open your eyes and ears and just maybe, just maybe we can stop this.
